A comprehensive study has been conducted to analyze and compare the implementation of the One Village One Product (OVOP) program in ASEAN countries and Japan. This study, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through the ASEAN Secretariat, aims to develop OVOP implementation guidelines that can be adapted by ASEAN member countries.
Methodology and Scope
The study involves an in-depth comparison between:
Best practices of OVOP in Oita Prefecture, Japan
Implementation of similar programs in 10 ASEAN member countries
Oita Prefecture was chosen as the primary benchmark due to its role as a pioneer and success story of the OVOP program, which has since spread worldwide, including to ASEAN countries.
Process and Dissemination
The study involves several key components:
In-depth research on OVOP models in each country
Workshops involving policymakers and business actors from all ASEAN countries and Japan
Development of comprehensive OVOP implementation guidelines

The results of this study are expected to serve as an important guide for ASEAN countries in:
